On September 25^th, 2010, Dr. Awni Behnam, assistant secretary-general of the United Nations, delegate-general for the UN Pavilion in Shanghai World Expo and prexy of International Maritime Academy visited China Maritime Museum (CMM). He was warmly welcomed by An Chengyao, secretary of Party Committee and vice president of CMM.

Dr. Behnam visited the maritime history exhibition hall, vessel exhibition hall and military exhibition hall with the interpretation of the guide. With great interest, he even operated the navigation simulators personally and watched movie in the CMM’s newly-opened 4D theatre.

Dr. Behnam was extremely excited when he saw the meticulously-made model of the US patrol torpedo boat in the Second World War, as it reminded him of his service as an officer on such kind of patrol boat. He said he would promote CMM in the US and encourage his friends to come to Shanghai to visit CMM.
