From March 26th to 27th, the "Preserving Cultural Heritage, Promoting Craftsmanship Spirit" 2025 Shanghai Cultural Relics Professional Skills Competition was held in Shanghai Museum East. One Restorer from China Maritime Museum won the second prize in the "Ceramic Artifact Restoration" category and would attend the national competition as a representative from Shanghai. Another restorer won the third prize in the "Restoration of Cultural Relics of Paper Calligraphy and Painting" category.

The competition was organized by Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Administration (Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics). It was divided into three categories, including metal artifacts restoration, ceramic artifacts restoration,  and paper calligraphy & painting artifacts restoration. The assessment mode of "theory with practical operation" was adopted to examine the skills and abilities of the "cultural relic doctors" in analyzing the diseases of cultural relics, formulating and implementing restoration plans.
