As an important part of the 2024 Shanghai International Flower Show, on April 18, China Maritime Museum, Secretariat of Shanghai Municipal Landscaping Commission Office and Ecology Department of Lin-gang Special Area Administration launched the exhibition “Botanical Glamour: Chinese Plants Sailing to the World”. The exhibition was guided by Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, Shanghai Municipal Landscaping Commission Office, and Lin-gang Special Area Administration.

This exhibition belongs to China Maritime Museum’s serial exhibitions on Maritime Silk Road, and displays Chinese plants which significantly influenced the world. The exhibition, decorated with cultural relics and fresh flowers, is divided into three chapters: Food of Paramount Importance, Feast of Tastes, and Mother of Horticulture, and tells the stories of Chinese plants sailing to the world via Maritime Silk Road and befitting the world.
