During the New Year's Day and Chinese Spring Festival, China Maritime Museum organized a series of activities to enrich people’s cultural life and create a festive atmosphere in the holiday.
On January 1st, China Maritime Museum held a sail-raising and blessing ceremony on the Fu-junk in the central hall. Volunteers were invited to beat the drums for blessing and hoist the sails of the Fu-junk to celebrate the arrival of 2025. The museum also carried out traditional drum and folk music performance to showcase the charm of Intangible Cultural Heritage; opened its lighthouse to the public for exploration; and invited calligraphy masters to write Spring Festival couplets for the audience.
During the Spring Festival holiday, China Maritime Museum launched new exhibition “Endless Joy: Spring Exhibition of China Maritime Museum” and 48 educational activities. Over 20,000 visitors viewed the exhibition and participated in scrolls painting, intangible cultural heritage activities, maritime jobs experiencing, craft making, etc., which closely linked the festivals with the maritime culture.
