In December, three books edited by China Maritime Museum,namely Echoing Tides – Exploring Navigation and Ships in Classical Poems, The Voyaging Youth and The Story of Chinese Ships,were rated as the excellent popular science books on transportation of 2024.
Echoing Tides – Exploring Navigation and Ships in Classical Poems was compiled on the basis of the exhibition with the same name. The book,with a selection of 100 excellent poetry works that are related to navigation and ships,is complemented with navigation knowledge, the works of the painting and calligraphy competition for primary and secondary school students in the Yangtze River Delta region, the recitation works of Chinese and foreign teenagers and the ship models and graphic materials from the museum collection,building a world of navigation and ships with profound connotations.
In the form of an original popular science novel, The Voyaging Youth unfolds the history of navigation humanities and tells navigation stories and popular science knowledge in a vivid and interesting way to help teenagers develop interest in navigation and devoting themselves to building a powerful transportation country.
The Story of Chinese Ships selects 50 famous historical ships, introduces the functions and characteristics of the ships and the historical knowledge behind them, and reproduces the glorious history of shipbuilding and navigation in China.
