In December, the new volume of China Maritime Museum's Collection Research Series, Defending the Borders and Guarding the Seas: Interpretation of Treasures of Ming and Qing Dynasties Coastal Defense Collected by the China Maritime Museum, was published.
Focusing on the theme of "coastal defense", it selected more than 30 pieces of artifacts from collections with high historical value, such as celebrity manuscripts, firearms, and cannons. From the perspective of these collections, it deeply expounded on the coastal defense thoughts, weapon development, coastal defense construction, etc. in the Ming and Qing dynasties, demonstrating the development and changes of the coastal defense in Ming and Qing period. It provides rich and intuitive research materials for the study of the history of China's coastal defense.
