On February 21st, in order to achieve the social service of the museum and strengthen the publicity of cultural relics protection laws and regulations, China Maritime Museum held the first public welfare identification of cultural relics among Shanghai citizens. Cooperated with experts from the Shanghai Collection Association, the event aims to provide free cultural relics identification services for the citizens and meet people’s needs for cultural relics identification. Totally, the public welfare identification services have conducted on-site identification of 28 sets of various antiques and collections. It intended to “verify the authenticity” of the folk cultural relics and create a rational collection atmosphere by means of expert interpretation and cultural relic knowledge dissemination.
