During the 2024 New Year holiday, China Maritime Museum launched the New Year activities “Dragon Soaring Across the Seas, All Things Renewed” for the public, including a New Year Sail-hoisting ceremony, non-heritage drum performance, and dragon dance shows, etc. Additionally, the newly restored “Niuzhuang Light Boat” was opened to the public, allowing visitors to feel the charm of a century-old light boat.
In January, China Maritime Museum held the event “Calligraphy Masters Presenting Spring Couplets, Joyfully Celebrating the New Year”. Five calligraphy masters were invited to write on the spot, presenting 300 sets of couplets and characters of Fu (meaning happiness in China culture) to the visitors. It aimed to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture and create a festive atmosphere for the public.
