In order to implement the concept of “bringing cultural relics back to life”, strengthen the connection with inland museums in the northwestern region of China, and expand the influence of maritime culture, “Smooth Sails: the Exhibition on Ancient Chinese Navigation Technology”, jointly organized by China Maritime Museum and Baoji Bronze Ware Museum, opened in Baoji Bronze Ware Museum on Oct. 1st.

The exhibition displays 68 pieces/set of nautical collections from China Maritime Museum, and highlights the achievements of ancient Chinese maritime technology through equipments and skills utilized in the past, namely, sculls, rudders, sails, anchors, compasses, navigational charts, etc. The exhibition leads the audience to travel through history and get a glimpse of the magnificent scene of navigation in ancient China.
