China Maritime Museum reopened to the public and launched two special exhibitions on July 1, 2022. They are Maritime Prestige of Great Han: Nautical Civilization of Nanyue Kingdom and A Special Exhibition Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China. The two special exhibitions lead visitors to return to the world of navigation.
The Maritime Prestige of Great Han: Nautical Civilization of Nanyue Kingdom was jointly launched by China Maritime Museum and Nanyue Kingdom Museum. The 154 pieces/sets of cultural relics were unearthed from the Tomb of the Nanyue King and the Nanyue Kingdom Palace. The exhibition showed the nautical achievements of Nanyue Kingdom, as the pioneer and starting point of Maritime Silk Road, and open Lingnan civilization.
The year of 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China. In order to commemorate the event, China Maritime Museum and Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League jointly launched a Special Exhibition Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China. The exhibition was composed of four parts, namely, Port and Maritime Construction, Shipping Service, Education and Scientific Investigation, and Nautical Sports. The exhibition displayed the achievements of 79 contemporary outstanding young people and groups in the field of navigation.
