Shanghai Marine Model Competition kicked off in China Maritime Museum on May 15th to 16th, 2021. It was co-hosted by China Maritime Museum, Shanghai Management Center for Science, Technology and Sports, and Shanghai Association of Marine Model. More than 100 marine model enthusiasts from sports schools, junior science stations, youth activity centers, colleges and universities, primary and secondary schools, and model clubs gathered in Lin-gang New Area and competed in three major events, namely motor yacht, sailing boat and endurance racing boat in the two venues of China Maritime Museum and Lin-gang City Park.

In order to popularize scientific knowledge of marine models and invigorate the interest of the public, China Maritime Museum will simultaneously launch the Sailing Model Training Camp and carry out a series of activities towards the whole society, such as practical operation of 550 sailing model, exhibition on marine models, and science lectures of champions.
