To thoroughly implement the thought of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the symposium on solidly promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and continue to promote the cultural and creative cooperation of science popularization museums in Yangtze River Delta, the First 2021 Yangtze River Delta Cultural and Creative Design Competition on Popular Sciencewas officially launched on August 28th, 2021.The competition was guided by the Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums, hosted by Yangtze River Delta Popular Science Venues Alliance, and undertaken by China Maritime Museum and Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. It collected physical and conceptual design works about popular science from all the outstanding creative and design enterprises, institutions, universities, individuals and teams.
The competition took “科普you礼”(Popular science brings you gifts)as the starting point, with the theme of popular science, and with culture creativity as the core and market demand as the orientation. It aimed to improve the design of cultural and creative products and promote the sustainable development of the cultural and creativemarket, drive the linkage of cultural and creative industries and generate alliance agglomeration effect.The 12 science popularization museums,including China Maritime Museum, Shanghai Science &Technology Museum,Anhui Science &Technology Museum, etc., provided collections and exhibition materials for the Handbook of theFirst 2021 Yangtze River Delta Popular Science Cultural and Creative Design Competition.
