On November 10th, 2021, conference of China Committee of Maritime Museums(CCMM) was held online. Nearly 90 participants including the directors and professionals of more than 40 maritime museums from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Liaoning, Shandong, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, etc., took part in the conference by the internet.
Liu Shuguang, President of China Museum Association, Matthew Tanner, President of International Congress of Maritime Museums(ICMM), Ma Xiaolin, representative of the Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance and director of Henan Museum, and Xie Zhicheng, representative of the Yangtze River Basin Museum Alliance and vice director of Sichuan Museum, delivered speeches at the congress.
The theme of the conference is "Revolutionary Cultural Relics and Maritime Memory". Focusing on this theme, participants shared experience on maritime collection and exhibition collaboration, Quanzhou winning UNESCO World Heritage listing, confronting post-COVID challenges, etc. Meanwhile, the conference organized the Maritime Museums Directors Forum.
