On November 18, Special Exhibition of The Ancient Dian Civilization of Yunnan, co-presented by China Maritime Museum and Yunnan Provincial Museum, kicked off at China Maritime Museum. This exhibition marks the first time that archaeological discoveries of the Ancient Dian Kingdom have been on display in Shanghai. It will run until March 9, 2026.
Structured into five thematic sections, namely Lost & Discovered, Topography & Livelihood, Deities & The Mortal World, Conflicts and Integration, and Converged Dian and Han Cultures, the exhibition showcases over 200 cultural relic treasures, including the Seal of the King of Dian unearthed from the royal cemetery of the Dian Kingdom at Shizhai Mountain in Jinning District, Kunming, Yunnan Province. It presents the historical process of the ancient Dian Kingdom’s integration into the Chinese nation and provides empirical evidence of the diversity and unity of Chinese civilization.
