Under the theme “commemorating the 620th anniversary of Zheng He’ voyages to the western ocean”, China Maritime Museum launched a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, social education activities and speeches on July 8.

The exhibition, titled “The Legend of the Treasure Fleet Continues: the Exhibition to Celebrate the 620th Anniversary of Zhengh He’ Voyages to the Western Ocean”, is the first Zheng He-themed special exhibition in China. It brings together nearly 150 exquisite items from 14 museums and 6 port organizations and is divided into 4 chapters, namely, A Hero of His Times, Sailing in the New Seas, The Lasting Impacts, Yesterday vs. Today. It provides a comprehensive narrative of Zheng He’s seven expeditions and explores their modern-day significance in navigation and cultural exchange.

The “International Shipping Center Digital Immersive Experience Area” deeply integrates with the global shipping data platform, creating a multimedia exhibition zone that offers a visually stunning perspective on global shipping. Visitors could learn the real-time maritime logistics industry around the world and touch the pulse of the global shipping network.

“Joy on the Blue: Cruise Theme Exhibition” is jointly guided by the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. By showcasing ship models of the “Nanhai Cruises”, etc, the exhibition showcases humanity’s voyages that connect the world.
