On November 5th, 2021, China Maritime Museum opened new exhibition “World Maritime Quincentenary: Special Exhibition of Maritime Relics in the 15th-19th Century” which narrates world maritime history with relics collected in China and tells global maritime stories from a Chinese perspective.
The exhibition is divided into four parts, namely, Technology that Advanced the History, Events that Boosted the Reformation, Commerce that Connected the World, and Art that Nurtured the Spirit, depicting the past quincentenary intertwined with maritime development, commerce and war.
The exhibition displays over 300 pieces/sets of exotic nautical relics of 20 countries, such as Spain, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, Germany, Mexico, etc., which are rare to see in China. You can review the magnificent panorama of global maritime history between 15th to 19th century through the exhibition.
