China has a long maritime history and culture, and the Maritime Silk Road has made outstanding contributions to the exchanges and mutual learning of world civilizations. Located in the eastern part of China, the Yangtze River Delta has numerous maritime intangible cultural heritage with a wide range of categories and rich connotations,which is an important part of the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
China Maritime Museum, in collaboration with 23 cultural institutions in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, jointly launched the exhibition “Maritime Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Yangtze River Delta”. By exhibiting more than 50 elements of the maritime intangible cultural heritage, it interprets the historical background and cultural deposit of the Integrated Regional Development of the Yangtze River Delta, thus strengthening self-confidence and the revival of Chinese maritime culture.
